The Tackover

During the creation of this series of pushpins, there seemed to be a dominant force of black males in popular culture. It was a moment in time, where the black man had larger than life status and could fit within the frame of pop art. This Jay-Z piece was the first pushpin piece that I created. It was a creative challenge based on a limited color palette (10 pushpin colors) and the necessary math involved. It is mean to appear digital, but is very much hand crafted.
