Commissions start off in the most random ways. Back in 2011, I got an email:
"I had a dream last night that you made me a tackover of the tribe called quest anthology album cover and now I really want it - no rush so if you’re busy now I just want to put it on your radar."
I love ATCQ and it seemed fun so we discussed some details. It was a bit difficult to execute based on the limited color palette of pushpins but I made it happen. After a few weeks, I did all the finishing touches and delivered it to her new Brooklyn apartment.
This collector hit me up at the right time, with a fun story, and was willing to discuss how to accommodate her budget. If you are ever serious about a commission, just hit me up.
